It's A New Day!
Though we woke to the stinging howl of a storm, I believe in hope.
Though fear and cynicism abound, I believe in promise and joy.
If I attract what I am, and I am what I think, how can I afford to be anything but an optimist?
My children deserve the happiness and idealism that sprouts from hope.
Today I celebrate the beauty and humility of hope.

you are so thin!
it must run in your family...i remember nate always eating like such a pig in high school and still he was so skinny!
i am so optimistic too, i just know the next 4 years are going to be better...they just have to be.
It's all about hope - and "If I attract what I am, and I am what I think, how can I afford to be anything but an optimist" - that may be my new mantra. At least when I am thinking positive.
Beautiful pics and beautiful sentiment!
Martha, I love this. LOVE IT. I'm going to have to come back and read it again. Can I quote you?
Oh . . . I'm thinking you voted for Obama (you don't have to answer that) so I thought you'd think it funny that one of the word verifications I had to type today said, "disbush." The timing was so ironic!
Martha--you're a good writer!
Made me cry! I am so hopefull--I am going to try so much harder to really be hopeful and follow your beautiful words!
You are looking great and those kids are beautiful-I miss them miss them miss them and you!!!

Awesome post. I believe That the hope you have is a different kind of hope than most people are aware. I love it.
I just have to say that you look so great, Martha! And your children and home is just so beautiful. I want to come and visit!!! I miss you!
Norah is looking a lot older these days. It's a good thing she has you around to show her how to be a wonderful woman!
